About the Artist

. . . . . .
Joan Andrews is known for her vibrant, realistic watercolor paintings inspired by the natural world.
Joan’s artistic journey began after a rewarding career in the software industry, where she worked as a user interface designer. Her creative reach extended across software demonstrations, dashboards, websites, branding, and more.
Raised in New Jersey and educated in design at Carnegie Mellon University, Joan began her professional career in New York City, working with advertising agencies and architectural firms. Her path later led her to the publishing world in San Francisco, followed by the launch of her own successful subcontracting business. Over the years, she collaborated with high-profile clients including Adobe, Samsung, NetApp, and Apple Computer.
After retiring, Joan returned to her longtime desire to paint—encouraged by friends who recognized her passion. What began as a rediscovered interest has blossomed into a joyful and meaningful artistic practice. Today, watercolor allows Joan to slow down, celebrate the beauty of everyday life, and share the unique stories she finds in the world around her.
